MIDG II Flash Utility

The MIDG II Flash utility enables reprogramming of the MIDG II.  Its
intended purpose is to allow the customer to update the MIDG II
firmware when new features or improvements become available.

Operation

To update the firmware, use the following proceedure.

1) Execute the MIDG II flash utility
2) Select the COM port to which the MIDG II is connected and press
   the 'Capture Target' Button.
3) Apply power to the MIDG II. A progress indicator will appear to
   indicate the progress of the capture.  When the progress
   indicator disappears, the target (MIDG II) is captured and ready
   for commands.
4) Select the 'Firmware' flash region (it is the default).
5) Click the 'Erase' button to erase the old firmware image. A
   progress indicator will appear and the flash utility will report
   errors if any occur.  The 'Blank Check' button may be used to
   verify that the flash is blank.  Again, only errors are reported.
6) Click the 'Load Image' button and select the firmware image to be
   programmed into the MIDG II.
7) Click the 'Program' button to download the new firmware image into
   the MIDG II.
8) Click the 'Disconnect' button again to release the target.
9) Cycle power on the MIDG to activate the new firmware.
